A Captivating Chinese New Year Experience at Imperial Koi!

This was my first experience at Imperial Koi and I gotta tell ya, I loved it! When I say experience, that is what it was. They were decorated for the Chinese New Year and my meal was served ON FIRE!
This is an elegant dining establishment that you can linger and enjoy for a bit or pop in for a quick sushi roll at the bar. They had beer and wine selections. The sushi offerings are plentiful and sure to have something for everyone! The presentation of the food is incredible!
The restaurant is located in a small shopping strip and the parking isn’t exactly plentiful but seems to be adequate.
There is an outdoor patio with electric heaters and ambient lighting though it was empty on this cold night.
Our server was excellent. Attentive but not overbearing.
The prices are bit higher than some other sushi restaurants but the quality of the food and the experience of it all makes it well worth it.

This place is fabulous! Wonderful staff, excellent service, and outstanding food! There just aren’t enough adjectives to describe this business. We went here for an early dinner and it was such a pleasant experience all around. I had the Teriyaki Chicken and my son had the Sushi Love Boat. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend. Great location for couples, families, and larger parties.

We ordered the one served on fire to have the full experience. The hot sake was good too. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I will definitely come back for more!

Quickest way to my heart? Yep, sushi.
Imperial koi is hands-down one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever encountered. The roll offering is impressive, the classic plates quite satisfying. From soup to flaming sushi, everything is a must-try!
This visit started out with a bang; asian style calamari that is perfectly sliced and breaded, lightly fried with fresh cracked pepper. Whoa.
Typically we opt for sushi and a chicken or shrimp entree, but we went all in on sushi. The Volcano roll (Crab stick, shrimp, avocado in a tempura-fried roll, topped w/ spicy tuna, spicy mayo, wasabi mayo & eel sauce) is the closest thing to heaven. So creamy, so tasty.. add a dash of soy sauce and your life is instantly changed.
Our other selection was a chefs choice offering. Several pieces of nigiri and sashimi accompanied by a spicy tuna roll. I could’ve ate three more servings.
The sushi and cocktail specials sounded fabulous. The aura of this place is very welcoming, our waiter was as nice as could be. Such a pleasurable experience from start to finish.

What a lovely restaurant!
Welcoming, clean, lovely restaurant! Greeted when we walked in the door and seated immediately.
We ordered a summer roll and edamane for an appetizer. The summer roll was huge but delicious! Definitely not what I expected but still packed with flavor! Edamame is edamame, delicious as always!
I ordered the smoking shrimp roll, so good! A few of my friends ordered bento boxes which were packed! You get quite a bit of food in the bento.
Definitely a great place to grab some delicious food!

Went prior to a show at the Tanger Performing Arts center, as we were coming from Charlotte. The ambience was beautiful, and eating on the porch was the best part. My cousin and I had Bibimbap bowls and I loved them. That egg set it off. Would def come back. I was a little disappointed they didn’t have the bar tender to make me a drink. But everything else was great.
First time trying out Imperial Koi, have driven by it numerous times . Service and food is impeccable! Went with my daughter, we shared the beet, pear salad, fresh and good flavor. She had the duck, which was so yummy and well cooked, not dry and I had the Parmesan Scallops which were amazing. We shared of sake, it was a perfect dinner and loved the atmosphere, will be back!!
Solid 5 stars. Whether it’s a leisurely lunch or quick dinner at the bar, dining at Imperial Koi has always been a pleasant and delicious experience. Favorites: chicken pad Thai, spring rolls, summer rolls, angry dragon roll, sunshine roll and shrimp tempura. Plenty of alternative options for those who do not care for sushi. Overall service is always friendly and helpful. If you haven’t been, do yourself a favor and enjoy your next sushi meal at Imperial Koi; I promise you’ll thank me!
Beautiful restaurant. Sushi is pretty good but their other entrees are not good. Portions are very small for the price they charge. Wouldn’t have minded if they tasted good. The duck we ordered looked like it was microwaved. Go for their sushi and the ambiance but skip their Chinese and Thai dishes. Not worth the price point.
